Raymond James Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament

June 26, 2019

The 12th Annual Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament took place on a perfect day in June. The weather could not have been more appropriate for a day out on the course enjoying hand-crafted ice cream from the Rocky Point Ice Cream truck, bike powered blender margaritas and a fun round of golf with colleagues, friends and sponsors.

Players were greeted by a Raymond James branded coloured balloon arch and volunteers who took their bags and delivered them to their carts. Throughout the day players participated in a best ball style golf game at the University Golf Club at UBC. Along the way they had the chance to “beat the boss”, Paul Allison, Chairman and CEO of Raymond James Ltd., in a tee off, sink a putt with a child’s plastic golf club and attempt a hole in one challenge where players could win $10,000 (unfortunately, no one made that once in a blue moon shot on the day).

The tournament finished off with dinner, mingling and an auction to raise additional money for the Raymond James Canada Foundation.

The annual tournament is in memory of Kent Parker, a highly regarded, long-time employee who passed away from cancer in 2010. All proceeds from the day’s fundraising activities support Raymond James employee-directed granting and volunteer programs.
