RJ Cares Month – May 2023
This May was our 10th annual RJ Cares Month at Raymond James! We share a desire to give back to the communities in which we live and work. In 2013, we created RJ Cares Month, a month- long initiative designed to celebrate and strengthen our passion for volunteering. Each May, our colleagues across the country focus their energy on team volunteer activities, donation drives, and community initiatives at a local level.

Dixon Transition Society Gift Donation and Cheque Presentation
December 2022
For 16 years, Cathedral Branch staff have donated to the Dixon Transition Society, providing Christmas gifts to families who otherwise would not be able to celebrate the holidays.
This year the staff raised $15,000 to go towards fulfilling the family's Christmas lists once again. We want to thank everyone for their generous holiday spirit and donations.
The Cathedral Branch is proud to continue its long-term partnership with the Dixon Transition Society, a local non-profit organization that provides transitional housing, counselling programs, and resources for women and their children escaping domestic violence.
Summer Branch Party

After a few years of practicing social distancing, this summer the Cathedral and Burnaby branches got together to enjoy the sun on a lovely boat cruise as we sailed along Coal Harbour. The weather could not have been better for a day out on the water with good food and good conversation.

He was drawn by the independent culture of the firm and founded his team, Linton Wealth Management, with the goal of providing a broader range of services to clients.
Congratulations to Robin Douglas on 50 Years in the Investment Industry!

Robin joined Raymond James predecessor firm Goepel McDermid in 1998 as Founding Manager of the Cathedral 21 branch. In 1999, he founded the Private Investment Management Group with $10 million dollars and built the platform for 11 years. In 2004, Robin launched Concierge Investing, representing the culmination of both his professional experience and personal values.

Summer Branch Party – Dragon Boating

Every summer the Cathedral and Burnaby teams get together to enjoy the sun and some friendly competition. This year was no different, with everyone gathering together for dragon boat racing at Olympic Village. It was a close call between the Jen Fast Trackers and JR Tornados, but the Tornados drove down victory lane. There’s always next summer…
Raymond James Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament

The 12th Annual Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament took place on a perfect day in June. The weather could not have been more appropriate for a day out on the course enjoying hand-crafted ice cream from the Rocky Point Ice Cream truck, bike powered blender margaritas and a fun round of golf with colleagues, friends and sponsors.
Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland Spring Lunch

On June 7th a group of female leaders from the Cathedral branch and the Vancouver corporate office represented Raymond James Ltd. at the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland Spring Lunch. The annual luncheon highlights and celebrates the impact mentorship has on young girls.

Raymond James Cares Month: an annual celebration of the desire Raymond James Ltd. employees have to give back to the communities in which they live and work.
Throughout May 2019, Cathedral branch employees had the opportunity to volunteer with organizations making a difference in the Lower Mainland such as the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Dixon Transition Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House and more!

With 100 International Women’s Day bingo cards sold out, everyone was excited to celebrate, raise money for charity and hoped they were in possession of the winning card.
On March 8th bingo buzz was apparent all over the office.
Dixon Transition Christmas Donations and Gift Wrapping - December 2018
For the past 12 years the Cathedral branch staff have generously donated to the Dixon Transition Society providing Christmas gifts to families who otherwise would not celebrate the holidays.
This year our staff donated $6,599.44 to help our personal shoppers to do another wonderful job of fulfilling the Christmas lists. We graciously thank all for their generous spirit and donations.
Annual Halloween Contest - October 2018
Raymond James Ltd.’s annual Halloween costume contest was a frightful excuse to dress up and share trick or treats.
Scariest Costume winner went to our branch’s “Nightmare Before Christmas”, aka Larissa Grierson.
14th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck - October 2018
Thanksgiving - a time to get together with family, friends and important people in your life to share a meal. Everyone at the branch looks forward to our annual potluck lunch, with turkey and all of the trimmings!
Much appreciation goes out to Susan, Peter and Warren. Susan, our champion organizer, gets up at the crack of dawn to cook two turkeys while Peter and Warren enjoy doing all the carving.
24th Raymond James Women’s Symposium - September 2018
Luisa Moreira was absolutely pleased to be an attendee at this year’s symposium held in Tampa, Florida.
This empowering event brought together a talented, strong, professional group of women advisors to network and share best practices.
To see so many accomplished and entrepreneurial women driving our industry forward resulted in a very inspiring event.
Team RJ Trip to Tanzania - July 2018
On July 22, 2018, Warren Wagstaff, Financial Advisor from our Cathedral branch, in his eleventh year of volunteering as a traveling team member for Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW), was excited this year to lead a group of many talented individuals from across the firm on Team RJ's recent trip to Tanzania to deliver bed-kits for SCAW.
Last year, RJ colleagues raised nearly $55,000.00 for SCAW during the 2017 Annual Giving Campaign while clients, friends, family, and vendors made up the difference to raise $70,000. As a result, this allowed for 2000 bed kits that were personally delivered to each child by a team member. Warren says it was an amazing experience!
Summer Branch Party - July 2018
Our branch’s annual summer party was held this year at the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club.
It was an excellent opportunity for our colleagues to get together for some team-building, social activity, and little fun outside the busy work day. Another well attended event with a good time had by all! “Let the good times roll.”
Raymond James Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament - June 2018
The 11th annual Kent Parker Memorial golf tournament was held in June this year at the University Golf Club, UBC. The proceeds of the event will benefit the Raymond James Canada Foundation to help fund our employee-directed charitable giving and volunteer initiatives.
It was a great day of friendly competition, fun, and fundraising.

National Administrators Conference - June 2018
This year our bi-annual event was held at the Hyatt Regency here in Vancouver in June.
Our IAS & IFS Branch Administrators and associates from our Chairman’s and Executive Councils were in attendance. It was a unique opportunity to network with fellow Raymond James colleagues from across the country, to receive high-level training and to experience top notch speakers.

Retirement Celebrations - April 2018
Happy Retirement to Susan Gifford! Our branch was both delighted and saddened to celebrate the retirement of one of our long time valued employees.
Susan has been with RJL for 20 years assisting our branch manager and as an interesting fact, she was one of the first females to become licensed in Canada in 1969!

Raymond James Team Rides to Conquer Cancer - August 2017
A Raymond James team led by James Schikkerling participated in his seventh Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting BC Cancer Foundation in August 2017.
Since its inaugural ride, over $350,000 has been raised, and what an amazing journey it has been!

Raymond James Kent Parker Memorial Golf Tournament - June 2017
In memory of Kent Parker, a long-time employee who passed away from cancer in 2010, Raymond James holds an annual golf tournament presented by the Raymond James Canada Foundation. The tournament brings together employees, guests and participating business sponsors. All proceeds benefit the Raymond James Canada Foundation, which helps distribute grants to the local community.
The Big Bike Ride BC Team - Cross Canada Charity Challenge - June 2017
James Schikkerling, Portfolio Manager, was one of the seven brave cyclists who participated in this 800+ kilometers ride from Field, BC all the way to Victoria to support cancer treatment and research in our province.
On the ride’s support group were fellow advisors Chris Mills and Tanya Wilson.
Raymond James Cares Month - May 2017
Since 2013, RJ Cares Month held annually in May has brought the generosity of our employees to the forefront.
Our employees during RJ Cares Month support a wide variety of incredible causes, from food banks and cancer research, to animals and the environment, to vulnerable children and families in our local communities.
Team Raymond James Visits Adopted Village - Kalthana, India - January 2016
After handing out 3,000 bed kits to children in the Belgaum area in India, our team traveled 20 hours from Belgaum to Kalthana, the village Raymond James Ltd. adopted through our 2014 donation* to Free the Children, spending the last few days repairing and building a much needed wall.
* With the help of Raymond James colleagues, partners, and matching dollars from the Raymond James Canada Foundation, a total of $50,000 was raised for Free the Children's Adopt a Village program.
Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
A very rewarding annual event held at Stanley Park with a total of over 50 volunteers, consisting of Raymond James colleagues and their guests picking up garbage around our beautiful beaches and shorelines.
To date, mounds of garbage have been collected by our volunteers. We thank them for protecting our environment.
Annual Giving Campaign - November
Our Annual Giving Campaign is a Corporate Matching program that complements employees’ and advisor's personal financial gifts to charity.
During a period of roughly 3 weeks in November & December, we enable employees to double their charitable giving. The Raymond James Canada Foundation matches all employee charitable donations dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of $2,000.00 per associate.*
*While funding lasts. RJCF does not match or donate to religious or political charities.
